Grand Hotel

We are a 100-year-old luxury hotel in Lund, Sweden. Our cuisine is legendary, we have modern conference and banquest facilities adn our staff is friendly and service-oriented

For a guest, a hotel stay is all about experience. It goes way beyond just a comfortable bed to sleep in. Even back in 1899, when we first threw open our doors that’s what we were thinking.

We wanted to give our guests a memorable experience. The décor, the cuisine, the service, the wines, and the atmosphere: everything about the Grand Hotel lives up to its name. The historic Grand Hotel Lund has turned into one of the best hotels in Sweden.

Celebrated architect Alfred Hellerström, who went on to become the city architect of Helsingborg, designed the Grand Hotel Lund. He also designed the Helsingborg City Hall and the University Library in Lund.

The historic hotel's facade is constructed from red sandstone and yellow brick. It is reminiscent of chateau architecture from the Renaissance period. The interiors, particularly the lobby, the grand marble staircase and the ballroom are very Art Nouveau, a classy alternative to tasteless mass-produced fixtures and furniture.

A line of renowned hoteliers has run the historic Grand Hotel Lund over the years.

The last 50 years has seen names like Gunnar Ek, Sven Holger Fogelklou and Frank Svensson managing the property. From 1980 to 1990 the Grand Hotel was run by the brothers Leif and Urban Paulsson, and from 1990 to 2005 by Leif Paulsson together with his wife Ann-Christin.

Since April 2005 the reins have been passed over to their daughter Maria Paulsson Rickle, who is now the CEO for the family-owned company that also manages Hotel Lundia and Hotel Finn in Lund.
